The information presented in our site is a result of years of study and research. While we are happy to share our knowledge, we share in the philosophy that you can never learn enough. We encourage you to seek out information. Read books, visit websites, and talk to as many people as possible. There are many experts in the breed including judges, professional handlers, and established exhibitors. You can also contact kennel club members, breed clubs, and breed rescue organizations.
As breeders we are dedicated to our dogs and to our breed. We are adamantly opposed to mistreatment of animals. This includes improper and unethical breeding practices. If you are interested in getting a dachshund, (And why not? They *are* wonderful!) we strongly encourage you to learn about a breed before inviting a dog into your home. We just as strongly encourage you to learn about a breeder before purchasing a dog from them..
Please stay away from puppy mills. Animals from puppy mills are often horrifically treated, and the dogs they sell are very often diseased, malnourished, and have other serious health problems. If you have to buy from a puppy broker or pet store, be *VERY* sure where this animal is coming from, and how it and its parents were treated. If you can’t find these answers look for a dog from a more reputable person.
Please remember that they are living, breathing beings. They deserve our love, our respect, our care, and our devotion. Nothing less.
